Were you guessing what fish was featured in the close up photo on Instagram or Facebook? The answer was a Blackfin Tuna. If you guessed correctly, congrats!

Captain Scott Walker shows you how to make THE best Tuna Salad.

The Blackfin Tuna is a schooling pelagic fish that feeds by ambushing prey near the surface of the water column. Their diet consists mostly of small bait fish, squid, and crustaceans. These tunas are excellent sport-fish on light tackle and are normally caught trolling or casting small baits or lures into feeding schools of fish.

There are a large variety of baits that can be used to catch these fish, such as ballyhoo, and other small fishes as well as strip baits, spoons, feathers, jigs, or plugs. Live bait fishing is also a very efficient way to trigger the bite from these fish.
